Regular, guided, with music, in total silence.
What helps you clear your mind of the buzzing thoughts? Do you think mediation can help you in everyday life?


Whatever about it, believing in it, disbelief, something special that happened during mediation or afterwards, we can talk of it in this thread.

Or post videos that help you meditate Smile and maybe that way help fellow forumer.

yes, it is. I remember when we did this sort of meditation with my yoga class, first times i tried it was too difficult, i could not listen to the voice, it was too quick for me, tohard to concentrate on what was said, but i loved listening to the music and my yoga teacher said that that was enough, stop trying but just let go.
But later on i learned to get in the calm and quiet mental state, so relaxing just to sit and listen.

At yoga we have a ritual, it's not exactly mediation, more meditation, still you can learn from it :-)

We have this birth ritual every year, we say goodbye to all bad things in the last year, visualize it in something holding it in your left hand, like imagining holding an apple or so, and then visualizing all good things from last year in your right hand, saying goodbye to the left hand thingies, holding the right hand thingies in memory, bringing the two hands together and open them and pushing away from your body. Then to think about the things from last year what you want to take with you next year, think of something in your hands and bring it to your hearth.
And then for a short while we open our eyes, stare into a flame, shut our eyes again, and then listen to the sound of a bell, smell a scent of incense, feel a hand on your shoulder, taste a piece of gingerbread or chocolate, all senses awakened, you're born again

no, you don't :-)
hm, let's see, mediation is when someone tries to help in a conflict between two persons. Like when people have decided to divorce, before they go to court, they try to arrange everything round the divorce in a more positive way of approach, by using a mediator.

and nowadays when people need help and search for it, the word mediation is used :-)

i am not sure if it is completely ok but that's my thought about mediation :-)

I need no meditation in these days... but It heps in my bad days when I try to concentrate on drawing , maybe is not meditation but is a way of trying to clear my mind

it is. it is one kind of meditation, focusing on one thing.

I still find it hard to calm my thoughts.

Maybe looking at thoughts like a very little part of yourself, not giving them the power they are trying to gain,to full your mind and soul! I arrived to a conclusion: our thoughts may be influenced by 3 ways( coming from 3 parts of us): through mind(words, comunications), through physiology(medication, drugs, alcohol etc) and the 3rd part is unexplored and unexplained part where art, music, dance, spirituality, collective unconsciious, dreams are!( maybe unconscious-but not only that one about which psychology is speaking).
