I am soooooooooo going! Found ok priced flight-train combo from finland to amsterdam and further to antwerp. I cant wait to see both Carla &co and irene&hedwig. Bet we will have a great party that day

this evening i told John about Indii having made a new forum and how great it is that there is a special thread about the wedding. I told him we talked about the wedding dress and then he was teasing me: 'search for a dress for a witch...with a broom..."

this weekend i was in Leiden, visiting my niece for her birthday and on our way to her room i saw a dress...so special. The shop was closed, so i took a blurry picture of it through the window and now i discovered it is a dress made by a Dutch couturier
i was on his website and ooooh so many beautiful dresses, but the first one, i luv it
But it's way above what i would spend for a dress, 1800 euro's and more, no way never, sigh

hey, i had a sister in law who could sew pretty wel. well, a pro in fact.
what she did if she saw something nice but way too expensive: have a very close lok in the store, take in all the details from the dress. and then make it herself.
what do you think, could that work?

Oh yes! I love the idea of seeing the wedding online. We could all join in the celebration.

And getting married on Friday the 13th is so cool.

@Bastet: yes, it crossed my mind, but i am uncertain about making the sewing pattern. I mean, sewing is ok, but making a wedding dress is quite something special no? And searching online i saw there are many ways in finding another fine dress.

januari 13th, 8 years ago, so that must be 2006. and their realtionship started on januari 13th, 20 years ago.

@Indii, as soon as i have found a dress different from the one i like, i'll put the name of the designer here.
as for the hair   

you might have to buy that dress after all from what i have seen in those bride`s tv shows, when they are trying and finding the perfect wedding dress. and one they liked first and best is always the one they choose no matter the cost.

yesterdayevening we visited a friend of Johm's who is a graphic designer, and she offered us to help us with the cards. She had some wild ideas about cards what can be folded into a wedding boat, no excactly our idea. We just want it simple, a picture and some text, done hehe.
But then we had a big chat about who will be invited or not. For me it was easy, it didn't take that long, and i made my list, but John...it;s like he has started to think over his life from like kindergarten to now, and think about all, and then i mean ALL, people he knows
but you cannot invite everybody, and you don't want to, and now he's got stuck with the idea that if you invite this cousin or that cousin, you also have to invite all others from a family, but there are people he doesn't like and doesn't want on his wedding but he doesn't like the fact that maybe they start talking in the family if he only invites the ones he knows best and have contact with..it's really bothering him, and things can be complicated
i am more direct, only chose the ones i really have contact with, for instance the children of my brother, but not the children of my sister
it's a personel thing and i hope he'll be happy once he have made a choice how to deal with it
