me and John going to Liverpool for a sort of short honeymoon :-). John has always been big fan of the Beatles and his dream was to go to England some day. And now that i surprised him with this trip he can't understand why he has never booked a trip to England before. And Liverpool seems to be a wonderful beautiful city with so much to do and see that i already know that we will have a great time there

hope you guys meet someone from ze band there too if they are around.

i hope to go to Vienna in April to catch the Antimatter-Leafblade gig, since they're not coming here (duh)

my baby sister moved to Liverpool a year and a half ago and my dad keeps telling me to go and visit her, but honestly, i'm just scared. she's my half-sister, younger than me by 13 years, and a very difficult young lady who doesn't talk much (and that's an understatement). i mostly get to understand people through talking, so in a way she feels like a complete stranger and i'm dreadfully awkward with people like her

would you have to spend all day, every day with her? maybe it could be doable if you get the chance to explore the city on your own a bit, so you don't have to spend every minute with her.

no, of course she would have to be at work and stuff and i could be out sightseeing, but still, the awkwardness of sitting in silence for hours on end

maybe its time to change her. you keep on talking and suggesting subjects, she is bound to start responding! or just leave the flat   

i would vote on go to Liverpool

i understand you dread this. dunno what i'd do. maybe choose for another trip to meet up with people you do like. *hinthint*

i really do love her... she's a brave girl, but very badly hurt by life, and there are a thousand tragic reasons behind her being uncommunicative (her mother became very sick after she was born and then died when my sister was 18, so she practically lived in the shadow of this absolutely horrible loss most of her life), there's no easy way to change her, it would take her years or decades to come out of that hiding place she made for herself, i think... it's just that i'm not the easiest person, either

but yeah i'm always in the planning, and maybe perhaps this year i'll get paid for the work i do (i still have an unpaid book from last year, but i sort of gave up on that money) and then i can TRAVEL   ah, it'd be so good!    

edit: oh god these blue smileys freak me out, i need to find something to replace them...!

sorry to hear about your sister. must be really hard for her. and yes, for her family too.

Agnes, i think we have talked about this sister of yours one evening in Budapest, there was me and Carla and you and bottle of red wine.. It's not easy situation. Awkward. I guess i would go, but maybe with someone, and that why staying in a hotel and visit her just a bit. Just to see how it goes.

Ok i have lots of plans, but as said, because i wasnt able to travel a lot last year, i will take all back now!
Tomorrow me and Robin will go to Tallinn, just for a day. Two weeks ago we were in Stockholm. In march i will go to Spain, Malaga, never been to Spain before so its nice. I will go there with a friend of mine that i dont know very well but we have a good talking connection. We will stay at one friend's place who lives all summers in Malaga, and summers in Finland, countryside. She is a therapist in chinese medicine and has helped me with my back.

April will be cool cause i got London travel as a bd present, flights from my relatives, hotel from Robin and theatre tickets from Robin's parents. I have always wanted to see Christie's Mousetrap play in london where its been going on now over 60 year every frekin day. Not one day skipped.
Thats just one, i love going to London, i dont mind if i have been there recently, there is so muh to do. So many real ales to try and so many crisps we dont have here. Nottingham was actually better with beers but i guess we will manage in London too.

May is free! But June it will be Belgium!!! Yay! And Holland!! Wooo! And i cant really wait for this one! And i will cry soon cause i am so happy of this one, because of the people i will see and because of the wedding.

June also Sweden for a week, in the countryside and july Greece, Rhodes with Robin, girls, my mom and her friend. Will be relaxing.

Then, what in autumn? Forum meeting?

@Tapsi: i can imagine your doubts but hey, you might be surprised in a positive way and maybe your relation will grow better, maybe you could tell her how much you love her and that you'd wish to have a better relation and then sightseeing Liverpool could be a nice thing to do together and alone as well.

@Heidi: it's so nice to read about all your plans, Malaga/Spain is great and you'll love it, take care of your back and neck indeed and enjoy a lot

so in the end my dad decided that since i didn't want to go alone, and he didn't want to go alone, either, perhaps we should go together he's a clever one, my dad, he is!

so we're going to Liverpool to visit my sister it's a short trip, we'll only be spending 4 days there, but wow, an ADVENTURE (though i don't plan to rush out Bilbo style, barefoot and without a handkerchief)

i'm excited and a bit scared, i've not been on a holiday with my dad for at least 25 years, and it's never been just the two of us travelling together he's an amazingly patient man and we usually get on really well together, but it'll be strange...

i should also send a message to Pete our Fira and Kevin to see if we can meet while i'm there, it'd be cool, i haven't seen Pete in ages and even though i've just met Kev and Sean, they were too tired and too much in a hurry to chat

Agnes, I travelled just once with my dad (me and him), a short trip for 1 day and it was so special, I found from him alot of memories since he was a child. I realized I don t know him -just a little, in my family mother is the "boss", he was a shy and distant supportive dad! Since that time it is a continous challenge for me listen his life stories! So, enjoy your dad and sister!!

Agi, great news, from what i heard about sons or daughters who travel with one of the parents, and from my own experience it's great and special because you not often do this. And then so often you can see your parent in a different way, and it can be so great, and hearing stories indeed what Claudia says, you've never heard before.
I loved listening to my mom when she would tell about her teens, and then she would blush and when i asked her 'why don't you do that more often, tell stories about when you were young" she said something like 'i am not gonna tell you everything, i have my secrets"
I even loved her more then :-)

i hope you can contact Pete, Sean and Kevin, will be great to meet them when you are in Liverpool, and i really hope this trip will warm your sisterly bond
when are you going on that adventure?

On Saturday next week I'm going to fly to Belgrade, spend a couple days there, then continue to Budapest and finally to Prague. I've never visited any of those places so I'm very excited about the trip. Can't wait!

wow, Olli,great trip, are you gonna meet with Gaga and Agi? i've been to Budapest and it's a beautiful city, but i've heard the same about Belgrade and Prague. Enjoy a lot

Yay great route,hopefully will be a very pleasant trip. I've been to both Budapest and Prague, lovely cities. Especially Prague was a very impressive one for me.

Carla, we should take Irene to Budapest A38, since there'll be a gig again this year hehe
